I just fell in love with this pink basin as it has so many possibilities for the home - bathroom to hold toiletries or the kitchen to hold herbs or utensils.

This is the basin of a vintage enamel French 'lavabo'.  It would have originally come in two parts, the tank part held the water and the basin would have been used to hold water, a bit like the English pitcher and bowl sets.

The 'lavabo' is something that would have been found in many French country homes in the 1920s.

It has a wonderful shabby chic charm, there is some rust and chips but no cracks, it still hold water, it tells me it has been used well. 

This basin is a lovely soft pink which is considered very rare.
