SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD Vintage Tin Trunk

When I first saw this wonderful trunk the first thing that sprang to my mind was the book by E. M. Forster - 'A Passage to India', if this trunk could talk what tales it might have to tell!

There are vintage items that I sometimes buy that I just have to have and this was one of them.

A whole forgotten era of passengers travelling by boat to far flung places in the early 20th century, to places that were unknown and which they had probably only read about in books, they had no idea what lay head of them - I must stop wax lyricalling about this piece.

It has the name M. A. Bradford, Passenger, To Bombay on the top of the trunk - I wonder who he or she was?

It is made of tin, painted with a wood effect which is faded, inside it's painted a dark red. The trunk is bashed and in a rusty condition but oh so lovely.  With two handles on either side for carrying and lock on the front which doesn't quite shut.

Would make a lovely storage trunk for all those precious pieces.

Approx size: Width 25 1/2 inches (64.77cms), Depth 16 inches (40.64cms), Height 13 inches (33.02cms)
